This is a beautifully hand-carved Turquoise ring, made out of a single piece of Green Arizona Turquoise with fine details.
This greenish blue stone is found in history from the palaces of the Pharaohs to the native Americans.
It is a symbol of prosperity, hope and success.
In ancient times Turquoise was often worn for protection from evil and was recognised to attract good spirits.
For a long time it has even been thought to warn the wearer of danger or illness by changing colour.
In medieval times its name was derived from the french word for the country Turkey, where it was imported from back then.
If you give or receive a gift with a Turquoise, it symbolises a pledge of friendship.
This stone is traditionally used to treat problems associated with stress and promotes general healing within the body.
Turquoise was one of the first gemstones ever to be mined and it has long been prised for its intense colour, which varies from Sky-blue to green depending on the quantities of iron and copper within it.
Turquoise is December's birthstone.
Measurements and ring sizes:
This ring is substantial, so one should be a little bit more generous for the size in my experience.
All my pieces are unique and when it comes to rings, you want to know the finger size, if it is for the ring finger, pointer, thumb, middle or the pinky, left or right or even for a toe.
I have only 6 specimen right now that vary in size, width and thickness.
Please choose from the following:
N1/2 (UK), 7 1/2 (US), 55 mm inner circumference, 17.6 mm inner diameter, 7.7 x 4.1 mm width x thickness,
