This hand crafted Sterling Silver ring holds a wonderful green-blue tourmaline in a smooth baguette-cut.
It has an interesting inner structure that reflects the light beautifully.
The ring shank has a clear and rectangular profile and a naturally polished surface.
The name of this semi-precious stone comes from the Sinhalese (Sri Lankan dialect) word 'tura mali', meaning 'the stone of mixed colours'.
Tourmaline is available from black to bluish black, dark brown, yellow, medium brown, blue to neon blue, lime to dark forest green, red and reddish purple, yellow, pink and colourless.
The most expensive ones are the blue Indicolite, the green Verdelite and the pink Rubellite.
Tourmalines are usually given on 8th Wedding Anniversaries.
If you were born in October the Tourmaline is your birthstone along with the Opal.
The Tourmaline measures 6 mm x 3 mm.
The 3.25 mm wide shank has a thickness of 1.5 mm.
This unique ring is a UK size I 1/2, it measures 49 mm in inner circumference, its inner diameter is 15.5 mm, that’s a US size 4 3/4.
All my pieces are unique and when it comes to rings, you want to know the finger size, if it is for the ring finger, pointer, thumb, middle or the pinky, left or right or even for a toe.
