These earrings are forest-green faceted cushion squares of Tourmaline embedded in Sterling Silver.
Each of the stones has its unique marbling and structure, when the light is shone onto it.
Tourmaline is a colourful semi-precious stone with great green tones.
Its name comes from the Sinhalese (a Sri Lankan dialect) word 'tura mali', literally meaning 'the stone of mixed colours’.
The most expensive ones are the blue Indicolite, the pink Rubellite and the green Verdelite that you can see here.
Wearing a green Verdelite is said to help increase success and is used tradionally in healing.
Tourmalines are usually given on 8th Wedding Anniversaries.
If you were born in October the Tourmaline is your birthstone along with the Opal.
Measurements:
These earrings have a 23 mm length in total.
The Tourmalines measure 7.8 mm x 4 mm depth and are 11.7 mm long with the bail.
