Roman Greek style Gold Ring

Solid hand carved Sterling Silver ring. This ring was primarly carved in wax and then the lost wax process or as we called it in French cire-perdue comes into play.

The lost wax process is a method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mold, that has been created by a wax model. Once the mold is made, the wax model is melted and drained away. A hollow core can be effected by the introduction of a heat-proof core that prevents the molten metal from totally filling the mold.

The lost-wax method dates from the 3rd millennium bc and has sustained few changes since then.

After the molding procedure, filing and polishing this ring was covered in gold. (Vermeil process)

This ring is brandnew. (not from ancient Rome)

This ring is a Q ½ , circumference in (mm) 58,  European size 18
