This necklace holds beautiful Colombian shaded Emeralds inside of a glass keepsake vial.
The lid of the pendant and the chain is made of genuine Sterling Silver.
The faceted Emeralds have the exquisite quality rating AAA.

The Incas and Aztecs, in whose former realm the best Emeralds are still found today, regarded the it as holy gemstone.
However, the oldest known finds were once made near the Red Sea in Egypt.
These were already exploited by Egyptian Pharaohs between 3000 and 1500 B.C. being referred to as the 'Cleopatra's Mines', and had been exhausted by the time they were rediscovered in the early 19th century.
In Emeralds inclusions are tolerated, in high quality fine emeralds can even be more valuable than diamonds.
It’s one of the genuine four precious stones the other three being the Sapphire, Ruby and the Diamond.
The green of the Emerald is the colour of life and in ancient Rome, the colour of Venus, goddess of beauty and love.
It’s the birthstone of people born in May.

Creating the piece I have been inspired by the renowned glass artists of Murano, an island near Venice, who do unbelievable glass work.
Glass vials were made by core-forming, which was probably the earliest method used for manufacturing of glass vessels and remained the usual way of making small glass containers of various shapes until about the first century BC.
A core of sand and dung was modelled into the desired shape, attached to a cane and dipped into molten glass,
then rolled on a flat surface to obtain a smooth finish.
Once the piece was finished and cooled the core was removed.

Measurements:
The necklace is 40 cm in total length.
The pendant is 31.9 mm long and 4.9 mm wide.
