August - PERIDOT

In ancient Egypt this greenish stone was used as currency and thought to be more valuable than diamonds. This volcanic gem, a beautiful yellow-green semi-precious stone was named the 'Evening Emerald' by the Romans, as it doesn't darken its tint at night. Peridot symbolises friendship and a happy marriage. It is said to bless the wearer with success, peace and good luck and also incur strength and physical vitality.
