Labradorite is a very distinctive stone and its name derives from the labrador Peninsula. Labradorite is related to plagioclase feldspar and is rich in sodium. The metallic reflections known as shimmer, create the appearance of rainbow reflections. It produces reflections of blue, green, yellow, violet, red and orange.
